Neuromodulator Injections

Age the way you want to

Cosmetic Injections

Aesthetic procedures using neuromodulator injections don’t just treat aging skin but may help prevent wrinkles & fine lines and promote collagen restoration. These injections disrupt the nerve receptors that trigger movement at the site of injection, which might help reduce the appearance of wrinkles that form over time or even prevent them from occurring.

Neuromodulators are often used as a simple and effective way to improve the appearance of your skin! If you’re noticing fine lines or wrinkles, or you want to prevent them, book a consultation with Dr. Alana to discuss what treatment options might be a good fit for you.

Dr. Alana does perform these injections. If you’d like to learn more, book in for a complimentary consultation.

Some patients might experience a bit of stinging with the initial injection, but overall very few patients report pain.

Just a few minutes. Initial visits are booked for 30 minutes.

Depending on the site of injection, skin type and the amount injected, neuromodulators last for an average of 3 months. We always recommend follow up treatments every 90 days for best results ongoing.

This depends on the number of units required. We have a minimum spend for Botox/Xeomin of $150 (+GST) (15 units included within this); and $10 per unit (+GST) over and above. We recommend booking in for a complimentary 15-minute aesthetic consultation to discuss your particular needs to get a more detailed estimate.

You should start noticing a difference 5-10 days after your procedure, and the full effects should be visible after a couple of weeks. Follow-ups are always booked 14 days after treatment (and not sooner) for this reason.

When you hear micro-Botox, Mini Botox, or baby Botox, they are all meaning the same thing. Mini Botox is a version of the conventional Botox and it is currently gaining popularity. While Botox is majorly for treating conditions that are not on the face, mini-Botox aims at treating just facial. Both Botox and mini-Botox work with the same principle, that is, injecting small doses of toxin in the area. Since mini-Botox focuses on the face only, the toxin is injected in the face only.

Yes, microneedling can be done even if you have received fillers. As a patient that has received fillers, you can receive microneedling treatments if you space out the treatment interval well enough. In most cases, you will have to wait for at least 3 weeks from when you received filler before considering microneedling. This is what most clinicians recommend for their patients and it is advisable to stick to the recommendation.

Yes, microneedling is good for jowls and can be used to improve jowls. Microneedling is a treatment procedure that involves the use of tiny needles to cause micro trauma to the skin. Unlike other treatments that use injections, microneedling only requires tiny needles for its procedures. These microscopic punctures in the skin help the body to create a wound-healing response that rejuvenates the skin cells.

If you don’t want Botox, there are alternatives you can consider instead of using Botox. Below are some of the alternatives to Botox:

  • Facial creams: It is now possible to find facial creams that can get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. Look for cell-regulating creams or antioxidant creams that can foster the production of collagen and metabolism of the facial skin cells.
  • Vitamins: Vitamins play important roles in improving one’s skin. Nutritional supplements that contain a lot of vitamins boost the production of collagen and also have oxidation effects that prevent skin damage that may be caused by free radicals in the body. Some of the vitamins to take include vitamin E, vitamin C, and Carotenoids.
  • Acupuncture. This is quite a new procedure for aging treatment; however, it is a good one that is effective in dealing with aging.
  • Other injectable neurotoxins like Dysport
  • Facial Exercise. Since we all believe that exercise helps to keep the body in a youthful state, the same can be applied to the face. There are facial exercises to help the face look youthful.
  • Chemical peels: Chemical peels are effective for the treatment of acne, reducing skin discoloration, and minimizing the symptoms of aging. After using chemical peels, a recovery time, ranging from days to up to 3 weeks is required. However, it takes just a day or so to start seeing results after the procedure.
  • Face Patches: This is also known as Frownies. These are sticky patches you need to place on areas that are prone to wrinkles. The essence of the patches is to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. This procedure is one of the easiest facial treatments available and it is less expensive. Also, you don’t need to receive any injections to complete the treatment.

18 years is the minimum age to get Botox. Even though 18 years is still considered very early for a Botox treatment, that’s the minimum approval age for it. Experts suggest that it is good for patients in their 20s and 30s because it serves as a preventive measure while growing old.

Although there is no health risk attached to getting microneedling just after Botox or fillers, it is advised to wait for some time (at least 2 weeks) so that the microneedling doesn’t have any effect on the fillers or Botox. However, both treatments are good for the skin and they play their specific roles in giving your skin a youthful feel.

Microneedling under the eye is a cosmetic procedure for getting rid of or reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and eye bags. Microneedling is effective for any part of the body and it is an effective treatment for minimizing scars and reducing signs of aging.

Below are instructions to follow after microneedling:

Post-Treatment Instructions

  • Avoid touching the skin post procedure.
  • After the microneedling procedure, avoid any form of anti-inflammatory medications for at least one week.
  • Avoid the use of Arnica/bromelain, and do not place ice on your face
  • If you are feeling any soreness, you can get a painkiller such as Tylenol to subside the pain
  • After Microneedling, do not expose yourself to direct sunlight. Avoid sun tanning for at least 2 weeks after the microneedling procedure.
  • Use ONLY the products provided or recommended by your practitioner.

No, Microneedling makes you look younger. Aging is a natural phenomenon that everyone must go through. As we age, our skin tends to become less firm and tight. As you grow older, the production of collagen (a protein responsible for youthful look) reduces and your body breaks down the little collagen produced faster. Collagen is responsible for firm and tight skin in humans.
